Why you should apply for Momentum ITSMA Marketing Excellence Award
Let’s face it, trophies rule. And even though the more 'experienced' B2B marketers among us are not from the 'everyone gets a trophy' generation, everyone LIKES a trophy.
But a brilliant trophy isn’t the only reason to apply for Momentum ITSMA’s Marketing Excellence Awards (MEA). Here are a few other incentives:
- You’ll get recognition for your specific marketing program. There are a lot of general B2B marketing award programs out there and many of them are great. However, only Momentum ITSMA’s MEA program focuses exclusively on B2B marketing for services and solutions. Your program and your team will be recognized in press releases, social shares, and video promotion, and often a case study.
- You’ll have the opportunity to share the spotlight. Very little in marketing gets done by just one person and sometimes it’s hard to recognize all the people and teams behind a program. But as this video shows, there’s nothing like a shoutout after you’ve won an award.
- You’ll get internal validation. Sometimes you need external validation to get internal support. If your marketing project needs to prove itself in a small way before getting the green light to go big, an award can help. In 2019, SPR Consulting won in Momentum ITSMA’s Small and Medium Business category and they’re using the win to convey the value of marketing across their organization.
- You’ll show how marketing is a strategic growth driver. Momentum ITSMA’s marketing award categories are tied to your business’s goals. Each award category in this year’s MEA program helps you show how your marketing program drives business growth. You’ll see each category begins with a verb; that’s because marketing isn’t just decoration, marketing is action.
-
You’ll design better marketing programs in the future. Having run the MEAs since 1998, we know what we’re doing. We’ve established rigorous judging criteria for programs, using multiple judges for each category, and we provide a thorough rubric to help you shape your story. This type of thinking not only leads to a well written award submission, completing an application can help you think through your project planning in the future.
- Judging criteria includes: quality of research, level of innovation, effectiveness of implementation, application of metrics, and measurable impact on business.
- The application asks for: a summary—the “essence of your story”; a description of the business problem or opportunity; an understanding of the customer/market need; a description of the innovation provided; details of the program execution; concrete business results.
- You’ll get access to even more award-winning marketers. As an MEA winner, you’ll get an invitation to our Annual Conference, Marketing Vision 2021, this fall. Each year this conference offers an incredible lineup of speakers, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities—in addition to highlighting our award winners.
And you know what? If you’re looking to slay your roomrater score, our awards are very nice. Take a look and try to tell us that trophies don’t mean anything.
