Bias takes many forms, from gender bias and ageism to name bias (giving preferable treatment to those with Anglo-sounding names) and the “horns effect” (ascribing negative characteristics to someone based on their appearance). Whether conscious or unconscious, prejudice can reinforce harmful stereotypes and severely hinder personal and professional progression.
